I got up at 5:30am to work out. I did a cardio workout with weights that concentrated on my legs, but also my arms and back. A very complete workout; I was drenched. My breakfast was a smoothie prepared by my husband, who’d juiced the night before. The recipe for the juice is carrots, apples, cucumbers, radish, beets, and celery. Sometimes we add peeled limes or lemons — it’s really good!
I took a cup to drink at work during the day. However, the juice is used as a stock to make a very nutritious smoothie with lots of fiber, excellent for cleansing. The juice is added to a blender and then pieces of kale, broccoli, baby spinach, strawberries, and blueberries go into the mix. To add more nutrition, add walnuts, almonds, a spoon of oatmeal, ground flaxseed and a scoop of protein powder of your favorite flavor. I use frozen strawerries and blueberries and this makes the smoothie nice and cold. I can truly say that I could live on this smoothie alone — it’s really good and you can’t taste the beets.
Lunch was chicken, broccoli, and green salad with olive oil and vinegar. One protein bar for a snack and for dinner a salmon filet and green tea.
In the afternoon, I went to get an adjutment at my chiropractor. I always get the massage therapist to work on my kinks and aches for an hour. If you don’t go to the chiropractor, I strongly recommend you go for an evaluation. Adjustments are great prevention for the inevitable problems of getting old. You will be thankful when you are 80 and you can still bend over and use your knees! A massage is key before your boudoir session. Combined with all the stretching done every day after your workout, it will get you ready for all the bending and twisting of the session.
